Close to downtown, schools, transit, and parks, the 175 Oxford project introduces 48 new one- and two-bedroom rental homes that are beautiful, low-carbon, and desirable. Each unit has its own entrance and is designed to maximize daylight, access to fresh air, and cross-ventilation. The project includes a community garden and outdoor gathering space while maintaining an area of mature trees.
All Kindred Works projects are climate-safe and designed for the 2050 climate. Kindred Works eliminates on-site carbon emissions through electrification, energy-efficiency and use carefully chosen construction materials with low embodied carbon.
Sustainability features include:
- High-efficiency, all-electric heat pump mechanical system.
- No fossil fuels are used on site, reducing Scope 1 emissions to ZERO, a 100% reduction.
- Well-insulated buildings and rigorous airtightness measures result in efficient buildings with reduced energy consumption from the power grid, consequently reducing Scope 2 emissions.
- On-site renewable energy production via solar PV panels further reduces electricity consumption and consequent Scope 2 emissions by an overall 95%.
- Extensive use of low-embodied carbon building materials and low-GWP insulation reduces Scope 3 from construction emissions by 67%.
- EV charging
Kindred Works develops and manages purpose-built rental housing that is beautiful, low-carbon, and desirable to live in. Our projects are responsible investments and contribute to livable cities, creating long-term stable returns for our investors and lasting benefits to the communities in which we work.
